A Chinese armorial plate for the Italian market (Uguccione III Bourbon del Monte, 12th Marquis Regent of Sorbello). Qianlong
Of octogonal form, the centre of the plate decorated with the coat of arms of the Marchesi di Sorbello, with drums and flags while the cavetto is decorated with an unusual inner border and a band of floral swag decoration on the rim.

This service was ordered by Uguccione III Bourbon del Monte, 12th Marquis Regent of Sorbello (1737-1816). He was the son of Guiseppe I (1690-1747), a successful and important diplomat for the King of Sardinia.
Uguccione III Bourbon del Monte acquired the Palazzo Bourbon di Sorbello in Piazza Piccinino (Perugia), which he filled with fine art and objects, including this armorial service.
