A blanc-de-chine ‘Marco Polo’ octagonal incense burner. Kangxi

Raised on eight cabriole legs and moulded around the sides with panels, each enclosing three registers of foliate decoration, with scroll work handles projecting from two of the corners, the openwork cover with further foliate and lotus designs surmounted by nine floral buds, the stand raised on eight ruyi-head feet, echoing the form of the incense burner, impressed to the centre with a lotus spray, all under a creamy-white glaze.
