A very fine Chinese powder blue coffee pot. Kangxi
A cone-shaped coffee pot, with a circular base that tapers towards the rim, an S-shaped spout and a curved handle attached to the side, with a cover of domed form surmounted by a pointed bid finial. It is covered in underglaze powder blue and decorated in overglaze gold with a continuous scene with two birds, possibly paradise flycatchers, perching on cherry blossom branches that extend along the composition. The scene is framed by a gold circle around the rim. The handle and spout are decorated with stylized stems.
